I have been teaching architecture and design since 2003, and over 10 years I had co-led a design unit at the Bartlett School of Architecture, investigating the role of architectural design in the 21st century Metropolis through the lens of socio-economic and environmental change. The unit has explored different themes, such as housing models, educational spaces, ecological systems and migration in the future. For end of year publications, click here.

Between 2017 and 2019 I supervised Masters students’ design thesis work at the London School of Architecture. I also directed the Foundation (2003-2006) and the Year 1 programmes (2006-2009) at the Cass and Central Saint Martins (2009-13), and contributed to the schools’ critical design curriculum fostering innovation and critical imagination. Most recently, I headed the Architecture Programme at Ravensbourne University.

A number of my students have been nominated for the RIBA president’s medals in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2016, 2017, and have won the Japan Shelter Competition 2017, the Architecture Drawing Prize at the World Architecture Festival in 2017 and the British Institution Award at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2018. I continue to promote the importance of ecological thinking within architectural research and education, given its vital importance to the design of our future built environment.
